Combating Anti-Semitism & Hate: SWC on the Frontlines

The Simon Wiesenthal Center has been active in the fight againstanti-Semitism and hate. In the last few days, we have:
  • Urged Twitter to shut down the account of Iranian Supreme LeaderAyatollah Khameini for his genocidal threats against Israel, the United States and Jews which could be construed as endorsing terrorism and murder bydefault.
  • Hailed US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s call for Holocaust restitution for agingsurvivors after calling on European countries to restitute Jewish properties destroyed by the Nazis and later nationalized by communistgovernments.
  • Joined a 48-hour boycott against social media giant Twitter, with otherorganizations united together against anti-Semitism and hate in support of Jews in the UK, #NoSafeSpaceForJewHate.
  • Raised concerns over an anti-Israel video that students wererequired to watch which vilified Jews and Israel as part of an education course in Canada that was removed following protests to Ontario’s EducationMinister.
  • Called on the major social media companies to adopt the IHRA definition ofanti-Semitism over the dissemination of anti-Semitism and fueling of violence against Jews on social media.
  • Demanded that the prestigious Order of the British Empire (MBE) be strippped fromBritish rapper Richard Kylea Cowie Jr. after he described Jews as "cowards and snakes" and compared them with the KKK.
