**CORRECTION** SWC Statement on Anti-Semitic Cartoon Appearing in Swedish Newspapers

Written by Admin | November 22, 2016

The SWC regrets the error in first reporting that the cartoon originated in “The Local”.

This evil cartoon that was published by the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, created a wave of protests. The Swedish branch of the European network, The Local, republished the cartoon to illustrate the dangers of antisemitism. Thecartoon encapsulates the hate that some people in Europe feel towardsthe United States and Israel. It besmirches an American election and the more than 90 million votes cast by U.S. citizens.

The cartoon shows goose-stepping U.S. and Israeli generals, and a hooded KKK Klansman walking alongside religious Jews with the caption, “Finally”.

“The evil that is anti-Semitism which screams out from this cartoon would evoke tears of joy from Nazi Propaganda Chief, Julius Streicher,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of theSimon Wiesenthal Center.
