"No one, no matter what the circumstances, has the right to use this tragedy to commit acts of violence, looting and theft. Thisdesecrates the memory of George Floyd," said Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, Dean and Founder and Associate Dean andGlobal Social Action Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
"Looting and burning private property is not a legitimate form of protest. The icons of the civil rights movement like Dr. MartinLuther King and other leaders such as, Caesar Chavez, and Americans who gave their lives to the fight for equality, must be crying tonight.
"We support our elected officials and police in bringing back law and order to the streets of American cities," the rabbisconcluded.
