Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center has written to Iyad Ammen Madani (pictured), Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation
Rabbi Hier urged the OIC chief “to go a step further and formally introduce a resolution at the United Nations repudiating the inhumane actsof these Jihadists as a debasement of Islam.”
“Now is the time following Jihadists attacks in France, Turkey and Belgium for the leadership of the Muslim world to seize the moment and, inthe name of Islam and hundreds of millions of moderate Muslims, take the lead in sponsoring a resolution that would clearly isolate these mass murderers from the entire Muslim world,” Rabbi Hieradded
“Such a resolution at this time would also unite Muslims, Christians and Jews at a pivotal moment in standing together for the betterment ofmankind and the sanctity of G-d’s name,” the Wiesenthal Center’s senior official concluded.
The OIC was founded in 1969. The organisation, which represents 57 states, says that the OIC is, "the collective voice of the Muslim world"and works to "safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony”.
