The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), a leading Jewish Human Rights NGO is urging Dr. Anthony Monaco,President of Tufts University, to remove a student in their Dental School with a long history of hateful and violent threats against Jews.
The letter, from Rabbi Abraham Cooper, SWC’s Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Actionread in part:
“… all Americans continued to be seriously impacted by the Covid-19 virus. We join with you in the hopes that scientists will sooncome up with a vaccine to stem the pandemic. However, the Jewish community is also under assault from another virus which has no known cure or vaccine – the virus of anti-Semitic hatred.
It manifests in brutal attacks on the streets of major cities, in desecrations of Synagogues andcemeteries by Jew-haters. The hatred, repackaged for online consumption by new generations, is promoted and marketed 24/7 across multiple Social Media platforms, spawning violent lone wolfdomestic terrorist attacks and poisoning impressionable young minds.”
“Against this backdrop, I add the voice of our global institution, devoted to protecting Memoryand imparting the lessons of what can happen when good people fail to act against hate and choose to remain silent when confronted with evil.
It has been some time since Tufts Dental School was presented with the litany ofanti-Semitic hate and threats posted online by AdamEyalan.
Anyone who threatens to “cremate” a “Jewish b**ch”, for example, should have no place in yourDental School... G-d forbid, if you would have a follower of the KKK who used the N word, we all trust that student would have been immediately thrown out.”
“…Tufts can and should ensure a level playing field when dealing with bigotry—including when thatbigotry targets Jews.”
The Simon Wiesenthal Center urges concerned citizens to add theirvoices to demand action.
