Dear SWC Supporter, Thank you for your overwhelming support that you have shown over the postponement of the SWC's exhibition, "Book, People, Land - The 3,500 Year Relationship of the JewishPeople With the Holy Land" due to aprotest by the 22-nation Arab Group at UNESCO. The exhibition was scheduled to open this past Monday at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. We are grateful for the unprecedented solidarity and support the Simon Wiesenthal Center has received from the Jewish world and beyond. We are workingdilligently, behind the scenes, to ensure the exhibition will be shown at UNESCO. And, we have prevailed (see story below). According to UNESCO's website, the exhibition willopen in June, and we are awaiting written confirmation to that effect. Our exhibition is not a political statement that belongs to an individual or a party. It is a collective narrative of an entire people — religious, secular, left and right— and their three and a half millenia relationship to the Holy Land that the Arab League does not want the world to know about. We will continue to keep you updated in the days to come. Thank you for your continued support. Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean |
