“Stop facilitating the pollution of cancerousanti-Semitism”
The Simon Wiesenthal Center is denouncing Greta Thunberg who, during a climate change protest in Amsterdam, gavethe microphone to Sara Rachdan, a Palestinian activist who has called for the destruction of Israel, and in a video falsely purports that Israel is gassing Palestinians.
“As a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those whoare fighting for freedom and for justice. Otherwise, there can be no climate justice without international solidarity,” Thunberg said.
“The SWC denounces GretaThunberg for facilitating the pollution of cancerous and harmful tropes against Jews on the streets of a European capitol where Jews were deported and gassed by theNazis,” stated Rabbi Abraham Cooper, SWC Associate Dean and Global Social Action Director. “It is particularly disgusting and dangerous that she legitimizes genocide when anti-Semitic violent hate crimes surge across Europe and the United States andmany Jews are afraid to wear Jewish symbols in public.”
“You no longer speak for us when you harm the environment by denouncing Israel after it suffered thelargest mass murder of Jews since the end of the Nazi Holocaust!” Cooper added.
