Updated Statement on the Iranian Missile & Drone Attacks on Israel

Written by Admin | April 15, 2024

Following the unprecedented attack by Iran and its proxies, the Simon Wiesenthal Center reiterates that:

  • The people of Israel and Jews around the world are grateful for the help of the US, UK, and other allies that intercepted, orsupported the interception, of 300 missiles and drones fired that helped save thousands of lives in Israel, including Jews and Arabs.
  • In the wake of yesterday’s unjustified attack, the SWC hopes that the support package for Israel, currently being considered bythe US Congress, will pass this week.
  • The Administration ensure that Iran faces meaningful and material consequences for its missile attacks - this behavior must not benormalized. Interception is not deterrence.
  • The US and its Western Allies should publicly affirm the Jewish state’s right to self-defense. Like every other sovereign nation,Israel has the right to defend her people.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center will continue to fight for the defense of Israel and her citizens during these dark and dangeroustimes.
