| The Simon Wiesenthal Center today called on Thailand’s Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha to sanction the Love Villa Hotelin Nonthaburi, for creating a Nazi-themed room, complete with murals of Hitler and swastikas. In a letter to Prime Minster Prayut, Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the Center’s Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action,denounced the hotel room as “a profound desecration of the memory of 6 million Jews murdered by Hitler’s Nazi Third Reich and millions of other victims who perished at thehands of the Nazis...” “Simply put, there is no excuse in 2018, for such a “tourist” hotel room anywhere in the world to exist. That it exists inThailand is a stain on your nation and its tourism industry,” continued Cooper, who has visited Thailand on anumber of occasions, bringing the Wiesenthal Center’s “Courage To Remember” Holocaust exhibit to Bangkok and to participate in UN-sponsored programs on International HolocaustMemorial Day.
