Human Rights Group on Asian Attack In NYC: Hate Emanates From the Same Sewer – Denounce Racist Violence

The global Jewish human rights organization Simon Wiesenthal Center today releasedthe following statement after an elderly Asian woman was violently attacked earlier this week in New York City amid an overall rise in Asian-American attacks nationwide.

“SWC, since the outbreak of Covid, has exposed and decried lurid anti-Asian and anti-Semitic online conspiracies and condemnedviolent hate targeting our Asian American neighbors. Such hate emanates from the same sewer. Racist violence must be denounced – whoever the victim, whoever the victimizer. Failure to do sospawns more hate and more violence, weakening America’s social fabric and equality.”
