SWC Condemns ICJ’s Ruling on the West Bank & East Jerusalem

The Simon Wiesenthal Center today denounced the German Foreign Minister’s endorsement of the International Court of Justice’sadvisory opinion that Israel’s “occupation” of the West Bank and East Jerusalem is illegal.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, SWC Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action for the Simon Wiesenthal Center, said: “It is notillegal for Jewish people to live in their ancestral homeland. The ICJ’s opinion and the German Foreign Minister’s endorsement of it, coming in the midst of Israel’s war against Hamas and aPalestinian Authority that financially rewards Palestinian terrorists to murder Jews, makes more distant any hope for a two-state solution. SWC urges German Chancellor Scholz to clearlyarticulate Germany’s policy vis-a-vis the ICJ’s ruling.”
