Following a request from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Facebook has immediately removed an anti-Semitic Facebook page posted from Iran, whichwas replete with genocidal threats and slanders against Israel, the Jewish people and Judaism.
Davood Zarebi, who says he is from Tehran, posts a diatribe in which he says “…we, as Imam Khomeini's children say: Judaism is extremely cruel and it's the time to deal with it, and start a newline in battle, and in this new front people who are anti-Judaism in all anti-Judaism countries start killing Jewish people… this is a special deed for our dear God that each religious personshould kill one Judaism Zionist (sic) and finish Judaism. Undoubtedly ‘human right’ and ‘democracy’ doesn’t mean anything for Judaism.”
He goes on to declare, “It's the time to punish Judaism Zionist all over the world. As God wants we start this new front to make it dangerous for Judaism Zionist in the entire world. That is toretaliate the oppression of Judaism…”
The Facebook posting then goes on to allege that the Talmud teaches that not killing a non-Jew is “a religious crime”, adding that “As they request for killing non –Judaism (sic) people, we wantto punish them- so from now on each person who is not Jewish, as they can, should deal with Zionist people.”
“Zarebi is also using the Internet, to spread his genocidal hatred in other ways, including making his book, Religious Duty, Territorial Issue available online,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper,associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center who heads up its Digital Terrorism and Hate Project. “The book’s 520 pages invoke the insidious conspiratorial themes of The Protocol of Zion screed,the “Blood Libel” canard alleging Jews use blood of Christian children to bake Passover Matzohs, and charges that Jews have conspired against the Persian people for centuries, “ Cooper noted.
The use of social media in Iran to attack the Jewish people increased dramatically last spring around the time of the Purim, the Jewish festival celebrating the thwarting of the genocidal goal ofHaman to destroy the Jews in the ancient Persian Empire. Many postings appeared charging that it was the actually the Jews who perpetrated history’s first genocide against the Persian people.
“All this activity underscores the centrality of Jew-hatred for a regime bent on acquiring nuclear weapons and whose leaders have called for the annihilation of Israel. We are especially gratefulthat Facebook quickly removed Zarebi's hate-filled diatribe.
