ACT NOW: Urge EU to Combat Rising Anti-Semitism in Europe

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day:
Urge the European Union to Combat Rising Anti-Semitism in Europe

• More than 40% of EU citizens holding anti-Semitic views

• 40% surge in violent anti-Semitism around the world

• French Jews fear a new strain of ISIS-inspired anti-Semitism

• German Chancellor Angela Merkel warns over growing anti-Semitism by young people coming from “countries where hatred of Israel and anti-Semitism is widespread.”

Tomorrow, January 27th, is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp in 1945.

71 years later, European leaders must mark this day - not only to remember the six million European Jews murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators – but toalso take new and strong measures to ensure the safety of today’s Jewish communities across Europe who are facing unprecedented anti-Semitism unlike anythingseen since World War II.

Please join with the Simon Wiesenthal Center in urging Donald Tusk, President of the EuropeanCouncil , the institution that defines the general political direction and priorities of the European Union, to immediatelyconvene a special summit to confront the increasingly perilous anti-Semitism, which left unchecked could lead to the end of a significant Jewish presence in Europe.
