Simon Wiesenthal Center's Government Advocacy Internship Program held its weekly seminar last night on Using the Press and Media in Advocacy. The seminar was led by two of New York’s mostcelebrated and award winning journalists in William “Bill” Farrell, who presently serves as the Communications Director for Government Relations firm Pitta Bishop & Del Giorno.
Bill Previously served for over thirty (30) years as a leading reporter, columnist, feature writer and editor of the New York Daily News, and Murray Weiss, who currently serves as the Producer ofCBS new program 48 Hours and previously spent time on the editorial staff of DNAinfo, as the Criminal Justice Editor for the New York Post, and as the Author of the 9/11 New York Times bestseller “The Man Who Warned America.”
The program participants garnered an eye opening, experience in understanding the behind the scenes editorial decision making process, learning how to package and pitch stories, and how to gainmaximum exposure for the issues that affect our community.
