BREAKING NEWS - White House Official to Simon Wiesenthal Center: Israel has the Right to Defend Itself Against Rocket and Missile Attacks

At a White House meeting today, with Simon Wiesenthal Center associate dean Rabbi Abraham Cooper, a White House official reiterated the stance of the Obama Administration that Israel has a right to defend herself against missile attacks from Hamas.

During the meeting, Rabbi Cooper said that while ultimately a two-state solution is the only real solution that could help bring peace and stability to the region, he added, "No Israeligovernment could or should negotiate with the Palestinian Authority if Hamas is going to be in the room.”

Also discussed was the current situation on the ground and hopes for peace in the future.

Over 15,000 activists have signed the Wiesenthal Center's White House petition calling on President Obama to urge Mr. Abbas to drop Hamas from the government or risk losing US funding.
