BREAKING: SWC Statement on Middle East Cease-Fire Agreement

The Simon Wiesenthal Center supports the cease-fire agreement brokered by the United States. The key will be that Hamas and other terrorist groups will cease and desist from firing rockets into Israel. Just as significant is President Obama’scommitment to Prime Minister Netanyahu that the United States is going to be deeply involved in preventing Iranian rockets from being smuggled into Gaza.

We applaud President Obama's commitment of preventing Hamas from replenishing its missile stockpiles as the most significant aspect of thecease-fire agreement. This represents a new level of involvement by the US in this crisis.
