Simon Wiesenthal Center Calls on All New Jersey 5th Congressional District Candidates to Condemn Anti-Semitic Flyer

The Simon Wiesenthal Center, today, condemned the usage of campaign flyers (pictured) being used in New Jersey’s 5th Congressional district race using anti-Semitic hate speech and accusations as a tactic to motivatevoters.

“While it is understood that tensions will run high in any hotly contested election campaign, we all must have a zero tolerance policy for religious or race-baiting by anycandidate,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a leading Jewish human rights organization.

“The challenges facing the Jewish community, including resurgent anti-Semitism, are daunting, and the use of any form of hate speech targeting any community isunacceptable.”

“The Simon Wiesenthal Center calls on both candidates to join in condemning such activity and commit to ensuring that both they and their supporters understand that such tacticswill not be tolerated,” Cooper concluded
