Simon Wiesenthal Center Joins in Worldwide Mourning for Victims of Devastating Earthquake in Nepal


The Simon Wiesenthal Center joins in mourning the death of thousands of people in Nepal and adjacent countries from the devastating earthquake. We pray for the safety of those still alive andspeedy recovery of all those injured.

We are proud of international efforts led by India as well as the monumental relief efforts on the ground by the US and Israel. We urge all of our members and friends to contribute to appropriateNGOs and charities.

Photo: Shaare Zedek has taken a lead role in the IDF Medical Mission to Nepal following the earthquake. The Medical Director of the FieldHospital is Dr. Ofer Merin, Deputy Director General at Shaare Zedek and an expert in Trauma Medicine. Dr. Merin was the SWC 2010 Medal of ValorHonoree for his work in Haiti immediately following the earthquake there.
