SWC Condemns Latest Terrorist Attack in Tel Aviv; Awaits Response From Muslim Faith Leaders During Ramadan

The Simon Wiesenthal Center has condemned the latest terrorist attack that struck the heart of Tel Aviv today and has so far left two people dead and 10 others wounded. The attack, the latesteruption of violence to strike Israel in recent weeks, took place Thursday night when a gunman opened fire on Dizengoff Street, a popular street filled with restaurants and bars in the heart ofTel Aviv. As of now, the gunman is still on the loose and large security forces - including at least 1,000 police officers and additional IDF soldiers - are searching the area.

“More innocents have been killed by an Arab terrorist in Tel Aviv. Israel must do whatever and wherever it takes to root out these terrorists, and the US must back its ally,” stated SWC AssociateDean and Director of Global Social Action Agenda, Rabbi Abraham Cooper. “During Ramadan, we await a response from Muslim faith leaders condemning this butchery of Jews.”
