SWC Digital Terrorism & Hate Project Issued Early Warnings about Parler & Telegram

The Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Digital Terrorism and Hate Project experts have been monitoring and tracking social media posts leading to and impacting on events surrounding theassault on the Capitol in Washington DC.

Here are a few examples from Telegram, which include incitement to violence and anti-Semitism. In the last six months, SWC officialssent the US Justice Department links to numerous Telegram Channels that promoted anti-Semitism (click here for previous report on Telegram).

Center officials also held numerous discussions with Parler, to urge the new social media platform to remove extremist postings andto set transparent rules to ensure that calls for violence and anti-Semitic postings would be removed. (click here for previous SWC report on Parler).
