SWC Issues Travel Advisory For Amsterdam as Violence Erupts Against Israelis & Jews on Eve of Kristallnacht

SWC Calls on Dutch authorities to protect Jews and Israelis

Following violent attacks against Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam on the eve of Kristallnacht, the Simon Wiesenthal Center urgesall Israeli and Jews to exercise heightened caution when visiting the city.

The assaults, which saw numerous individuals targeted, harassed, and besieged by organized rioters, have raised significant concernsabout public safety and the adequacy of local security measures.

SWC urges travelers to:

  • Avoid displaying Israeli or Jewish symbols in public spaces.

  • Remain vigilant when navigating areas where incidents have been reported, including major hotels and public transportationhubs.

  • Immediately report any threats or harassment to local law enforcement and notify the nearest Israeli consulate or Jewishcommunity organization.

Dutch authorities have made arrests. We expect further decisive action to prevent such attacks and protect Jewish visitors andresidents. Until these measures are fully realized, caution and awareness are imperative for those traveling to Amsterdam.
