SWC Statement on Release of Jonathan Pollard

The Simon Wiesenthal Center welcomes the release of Jonathan Pollard and wishes him and his wife well as he spends his first Sabbath in freedom in three decades. We are sorry that Jonathan’s parents did not live to see thisday. The SWC publicly supported the release of Mr. Pollard for many years, on humanitarian grounds, and Center officials met with him while he was incarcerated in Illinois and later in NorthCarolina. We wish him well and hope he will soon be able to go to Israel.
