SWC Statement on the Murderous Rampage at the Seattle Jewish Federation

At a press conference at the Simon Wiesenthal Center just hours after the murderous rampage at the Seattle, Washington JewishFederation, Wiesenthal Center officials expressed their outrage over the attack and extended their condolences to the family of the murdered employee.

Rabbi Marvin Hier, the Center's Founder and Dean added, "We will not be intimidated. We will attend our Shabbat services andgather at our institutions. This is the United States of America and we have full confidence in our Police to ensure the Community's safety."

Los Angeles City Councilman Jack Weiss echoed those sentiments and reported on his conversations with the FBI and Police ChiefBill Braton. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the Center's Associate Dean emphasized that the level of Jew hatred promoted by Hezbollah and other Islamist extremists via satellite TV internet sites andsermons were "at the highest levels since the end of World War II," and called on the "silent majority of Moslems" to denounce the dangerous ajntisemitsm.
