SIMON WIESENTHAL CENTER URGES UK TO CONDUCTFULL PROBE INTO RELEASE OF LOCKERBIE MASTERMIND
"Recall his ambassador from Tripoli untilal-Megrabi is returned to jail or dies," says Wiesenthal Center Associate Dean, Rabbi AbrahamCooper.
Based on various media reports in the Times of London and other media outlets that call into question the diagnosis ofterrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the convicted mastermind of the Pam Am Lockerbie bombing, the Simon Wiesenthal Center is urging the British government to conduct a full investigation into thematter.
"The UK owes the long-suffering families of the PAN AM 103 terror victims the truth about this outrage," said Rabbi Cooper,Associate Dean of the Wiesenthal Center. "If it turns out that the freed mass murderer/hero of the Libyan people is not on his death bed, Prime Minister Gordon Brown should lead thecivilized world in recalling his ambassador from Tripoli in protest, and not return him until al-Megrabi is returned to jail or dies," he continued., "As for the business deals," concludedCooper, “Not to worry. That well traveled road is easily re-connected too - just follow the stench of oil."
