SWC Welcomes Opening of Trial of Former Stutthof Guard

Hamburg, Germany

The Simon Wiesenthal Center welcomed the opening today, in Hamburg, of the trial of former Stutthof camp guard, Bruno Dey.

This is the fifth trial held in Germany under the new prosecution policy instituted by the German authorities which makes bringingNazi war criminals to justice much easier than it has been in the past.

The Center’s Chief Nazi Hunter, Dr. Efraim Zuroff attended the trial and played an important role in the preparation of the caseagainst Dey, finding 21 survivors of Stutthof who could serve as potential witnesses.
