SWC—Hamas Holds the Keys to Gaza ‘Prison Camp’

The Simon Wiesenthal Center agrees with British Prime Minister David Cameron’s statement made while meeting with Turkish Prime Mister Recep Erdogan in Istanbul, in which he said that,“Gaza cannot and must not be allowed to remain a prison camp”.

“We agree with the Prime Minister, but respectfully remind him and his host PM Erdogan that it is Hamas that holds the keys to that prison,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper associate dean ofthe Jewish human rights NGO. “World leaders are fully aware that Israel’s actions are meant to protect her citizens from further terror and rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip,” headded.

Cooper added that once these terror and rocket attacks cease, “the quality of life for all residents of both sides of the border will immediately be transformed.”

“Until that day, the residents of Gaza are stuck with the jailers they put in charge,” he concluded.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over 400,000 member families in the United States. Itis an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, the OAS, the Council of Europe and the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino).
