SWC’s SIX WORDS CAMPAIGN: “I will accept a Jewish State”

Say No to ’67 Borders — The Right Plan for the Refugees — Condemn Terrorist Hamas

There are six words that must be said before there can ever be peace in the Middle East from ongoing terrorism and the ever-present threat of war to the chance for twoStates thriving side by side.

They are “I will accept a Jewish State.” And if Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would utter those six words, our work would be very different.

As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last month, “Those six words will change history. They will make clear to the Palestinians that this conflict must come to an end – that they are notbuilding a state to continue the conflict with Israel, but to end it.”

As more and more world leaders, including President Obama, insist Israel-Palestinian peace talks must restart and yield quick results, the road to peace is not by insistingnegotiations start from the pre-1967 lines but by Palestinian President Abbas declaring that his people will accept the Jewish State of Israel as their legitimate, permanentneighbor.

And still President Abbas will not say those six words.

Instead he has petitioned the United Nations to unilaterally declare a Palestinian State this coming September and has also made a deal with the Hamas terrorist group.

The SWC’s Six Words Campaign will urge world leadersto drop the dangerous double standards that make unreasonable demands from Israel while never holding Palestinians responsible for demonizing their Jewish neighbors andempowering Hamas.

Just last week, according to Palestinian Media Watch, the official PA called Judaism a “distorted, corrupted, falsified religion,” that, “the Jews are inherently evil”and “the creation of Israel is a malignant cancerous growth.”

Which is why the world, led by the United States and Canada, should send the Palestinians an unambiguous message: Want Peace? Say those six words. Our strategic effort iszeroing in on three crucial areas:

Say ‘No’ to 1967 Borders: The notion that pre-1967 Six-Day War borders, even with ‘land swaps’, are viable for Israel’s future, must be stopped.

Condemn Terrorist Hamas: Hamas, which controls Gaza, and has just signed a unity agreement with PA President Abbas, continues to tell the world they willnever recognize the State of Israel. Read more…

Stop rewarding the Palestinian leadership for investing in hate instead of hope. Stop punishing Israel for every concession it makes in hopes of finally attaining a peacefulfuture.

The Wiesenthal Center understands these key obstacles to a just and lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinian people. With your generous contribution we will:

•Alert world leaders to the core issues preventing peace, including those crucial six words that must be spoken by the Palestinian leadership before negotiations can moveforward.

•Conduct high-level meetings with diplomats and other key international figures to urge a more balanced approach to Israel-Palestinian negotiations.

Your contribution to our Six WordsCampaign will ensure that the Center can stand firm with Israel in this time of need.
