Wiesenthal Center Denounces Cowardly Behavior of German Police in Response to Anti-Semitic Violence in Duisberg

Jerusalem – The Simon Wiesenthal Center today denounced the cowardly behavior of the German police in the city of Duisberg whoin response to violence by anti-Israel protesters entered a private home and removed an Israeli flag hanging in the window.

In a statement issued in Jerusalem by Israel director Dr. Efraim Zuroff, the Center denounced the behavior of the Duisbergpolice as “cowardly” and “incomprehensible” and clearly biased against Israel.

According to Zuroff:

“Can anyone imagine the German police going into a private home to remove a Hamas flag? This type of response will onlyencourage more aggressive and violent behavior by anti-Israel demonstrators and send the message that in Germany, Jews and supporters of Israel do not enjoy the full protection of thelaw.”
