Wiesenthal Center Exposes Palestinian Plan to Erase Jewish Identity From Dead Sea Scrolls, Qumran Caves

The Simon Wiesenthal Center today warned UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay of an apparent plan by thePalestinian delegation to claim ownership of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Qumran Caves where they were found. In a letter to Azoulay, Dr. Shimon Samuels, the Center’s Director for InternationalRelations, called the move “a disturbing plan to undermine her commitment to depoliticize the UN agency.”
