Wiesenthal Center Files Complaint Against Decision to Stop Investigations of Danish SS-Volunteers Helmut Rasbol And Axel Andersen

Jerusalem – The Simon Wiesenthal Center today filed a complaint with the Danish Director of Public Prosecutions in response to the recent decision by the State Prosecutor for SeriousEconomic and International Crime to close the investigation against Danish SS volunteers Helmut Rasbol and Axel Andersen on the suspicion of war crimes committed in Bobruisk, Belarus in1942-43.

In a statement issued here today by its chief Nazi-hunter, Dr. Efraim Zuroff, who submitted the original complaint to the Danish police in July 2015, the Center pointed to several issueswhich cast doubt on the decision to close the case.

According to Zuroff:
"We do not agree with the decision to close the case and will supply the explanations for our complaint, after the Director of Public Prosecutions has an opportunity to review oursubmission and make his ruling."
