Wiesenthal Center Founder And Dean To Speak At OSCE Conference

WIESENTHAL CENTER FOUNDER AND DEAN TO SPEAK AT OSCE CONFERENCE

Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, will travel to Cordoba, Spain as part of theUnited States delegation to the June 8-9, 2005 conference on Antisemitism and Other Forms of Intolerance, sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation(OSCE). Hier is scheduled to speak at two different sessions of the conference on June 8th, on the Holocaust and Antisemitism, and Antisemitism in the Media.

New York Governor George E. Pataki will lead the U.S. delegation. His Majesty Juan Carlos I, King of Spain, willopen this year’s event which will focus on practical steps to combat intolerance, building upon last year’s Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Conference onAnti-Semitism in Berlin and Conference on Racism, Xenophobia and Discrimination in Brussels. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe comprises 55nations, including the United States, Canada and the countries of Europe and Eurasia.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over400,000 member families in the United States. It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, and the Council of Europe.
