Wiesenthal Centre at World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa

The World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa was, this year, held on October 26-28th in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Modelled on the annual Davos global gathering of business, political, academic and media leaders, this regional meeting brought together over 1000 decision-makers and social entrepreneurs fromacross the Arab World. Some thirty Israeli and Jewish figures were invited to participate, including the Centre's Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels.

The World Economic Forum's mission statement is "Committed to Improving the State of the World". Despite the present crisis in the peace process, the networking opportunities occasioned by this"Davos in Marrakesh" provide contacts that can, perhaps, inspire hope to improve the state of the region.
