Zundel Deported to Germany: 'Canada Struck a Blow Against Hate Today'

ZUNDEL DEPORTED TO GERMANY: 'CANADA STRUCK A BLOW AGAINST HATE TODAY'

"Canada struck a blow against hate and professional bigots today by finally deporting Holocaust denier ErnstZundel," said Rabbi Abraham Cooper associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. "This long-delayed move comes as the civilized world commemorates the 60th anniversary of theliberation of Europe from the genocidal grip of Nazi Germany. But it also comes at a time when, as a result of the efforts of professional Holocaust deniers and antisemites, toomany young people have come to doubt the horrific brutal reality of the Nazi's Final Solution that systematically murdered 6 million innocent Jews," he added.

"We hope that Canada's move and Zundel's impending arrest will give pause among those in the Arab and Moslemworld who have rushed to embraced the 'big lie' that Zundel and his ilk continue to peddle," Cooper concluded.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over400,000 member families in the United States. It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, and the Council of Europe.
