WIESENTHAL CENTER CONDEMNS TERROR ATTACKS IN INDIA, CALLS ON UN TO CONFRONT ISLAMIC TERROR

The SimonWiesenthal Center condemned the brazen and horrific attacks in Mumbai which murdered and maimed hundreds of innocent civilians in hotels and restaurants.
According to reports, gunmen not only attacked locations popular with Westerners but also stormed the Jewish Chabad House, taking hostages.

This is another wake up call to the international community that it must finally deal with Islamic terror—thegreat crime of the 21st century which threatens all of us,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and dean of the Wiesenthal Center. “The General Assembly of the United Nations dealswith many important issues but continues to ignore suicide terror. The time has come for the UN to move beyond the objections of the Muslim member-states and to convene a specialsession to deal with this plague.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, the hostages and their families,” Hier concluded.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over400,000 member families in the United States. It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, and the Council of Europe.
